Machinism at Burning Man 2002

From 2002-08-27 to 2002-09-01 the Machinism Dome was set up at the Burning Man Festival in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA. Machinism DJs Jan and Mirko were spinning classics and new releases of Industrial music at this extraordinary event. The original virtual flyer can be found at http://www.vermeer.franken.de/musik/machinism/bm.html.

For those who did not have a chance to stop by, a few pictures of the event are posted here...

Picture 1   The Machinism Dome protected the dancefloor from sunlight and dust. The spots that look like snowflakes are in fact dust particles. The tiny bright dot in the center is Jan's Aurora headlamp.

Picture 3   Jan and Mirko are checking the equipment. The fine dust of Black Rock Desert is literally everywhere and can become a serious problem for sensitive equipment such as CD players and mixers.

Picture 4   The modest 500W amplifier (sitting on the ground) and all other equipment was powered by a 1.85 kW generator.
And, yes, that is indeed an ironing board...

Picture 6   There was also a light show
(light bulb in the background ;-)
